“There is no delight in owning anything unshared.” – Seneca (Roman philosopher, mid-1st century AD)
The meeting hosted by Chris Bollinger, at Południk Zero cafe (www.poludnikzero.pl ) was indeed a jolly evening full of unexpected twists of events. We all agreed that evening put our Club to the ‘ultimate we can do it’ test, which we passed with flying colors.
Our main goal was to make the meeting a special event and it seemed like almost everyone received a gift (courtesy of Chris Bollinger) and many smiling faces, proved they were enjoying themselves. Chris epitomizes the cool, calm and efficient party host.
Dress code for that meeting included a red Santa hat, which in addition gave that meeting a festive feel.
Theme of the meeting was: Sharing. We were fortunate to have a range of great speakers sharing with us their stories.
Wojtek Arciszewski delivered his CC1 Ice Breaker project, titled “Hello”.
Beata Stepaniak presente her CC4 project – How to Say It, titled “Financial Education”.
Vlad Lykhora presented, first time at Speaking Elephants, his CC8 project – Get Comfortable with Visual Aids, titled “The City of Kherson. Vlad gave a great performance in that busy and loud environment ” making most of visual aids”, which doubled up as an educational speech for the benefit of all Club members.
The Table Topics session was held by Michał Paluchowski, and he had some goodies to give away to the brave volunteering speakers.
I hope we’ll be able to celebrate together again next year. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, 2012.
