Hello fellow members and guests, we all know that we are working together, but sometimes we forgot that Toastmasters is more than that.
That is why I want to highlight few important announcements from recent history of Toastmasters society.
Get to Know the 2013-2014 Board Members
New Board members were elected at the 2013 Annual Business Meeting. To learn more about the leaders of the organization, visit www.toastmasters.org/meettheboard.
This month the organization will release its first edition of the Toastmaster digital magazine. Members around the globe will have instant access to monthly editions of the Toastmaster via an app that is downloadable on tablets and mobile devices. The digital version is enhanced with multimedia interactivity, videos, links and more. Members will still receive the print edition unless they choose to opt out. For more information, please visit www.toastmasters.org/magazine.
Congratulations to the World Champion of Public Speaking!
The title of 2013 World Champion of Public Speaking was awarded to Presiyan Vasilev from Chicago, Illinois, with his winning speech, “Changed by a Tire.” Watch highlights from Mr. Vasilev’s speech. Second- and third-place winners were, respectively, Kingi Biddle from Rotorua, New Zealand, with his speech, “The Sitting Place” and Shurooq AlBanna from Dubai, United Arab Emirates, with her speech, “Finding the Pearl.” See the list of finalists at www.toastmasters.org/semifinals.
