Toastmasters Speaking Elephants Meeting- May 24th

“A statistician is a person who stands in a bucket of ice water, sticks their head in an oven and says “on average, I feel fine!” – K.Dunnigan

Piotr Pióro was the toastmaster at our May 24th meeting. The theme of the evening was: Statistics. Piotr presented us some thought-provoking statistics on Poles, which in turn triggered off further discussion.

The discussion was followed up by a persuasive speech by Iga Korneta, who successfully managed to win over the audience. Iga is our club’s best proof of how effective Toastmasters method is-transforming into a competent presenter within a couple of months spent in our club. We look forward to listening to Iga’s 10th speech soon.

Dorota Wrześniewska did an exceptional job presenting her speech number 10 – ‘ Inspire Your Audience’, titled: ‘Is silence Golden?’, and this way she completed her Competent Communicator manual. Congratulations, Dorota!!!

Table Topics, run by Tomasz Kolinko, continued on the theme of statistics. Tomasz, as usual, surprised us with his ‘out of the box’ idea to use simple drawings to present statistics. This exercise not only required people to think on their feet, but also allowed them to exercise their imagination.

Please be advised that our next meeting, May 31st, will also serve as an opportunity to hold elections to the next year’s club board. We strongly encourage you to take on leadership positions within our club
